  • 1 cup tamarind candies
  • 1/2 cups chamoy
  • 1/2 cups chile powder
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cups lime juice

  • In a pot, add tamarind candies and chamoy. Cook for 15 minutes or until candy melts.
  • Add chile powder, sugar, and lime juice. Using a wooden spoon, stir. Cook over medium heat. Cooking time will depend on the chamoy you’d like to make. If it is for garnishing fruit or vegetables, cook for 5 minutes. If it is for rim dip, cook over medium-low heat for 10 minutes or until the desired consistency is obtained.
  • For the michelada: Pour chamoy rim dip on a plate. Dip glass in chamoy rim paste. Add seasoning sauce, Worcestershire sauce, lime juice, hot sauce, and tomato clam juice and pour beer.
